It’s getting late in the game, I know, but choosing a veep for this sheep is not done on the cheap! After much deliberation between myself and my close advisors, the decision is made. The answer was in front of us the whole time. Not Moonpie. Not Penguino. But an old friend. One who needs little introduction. A trusty compadre that has never let me down.
Yes, the one and only. Bacon has been there for Meep for many, many years and Bacon will be there for Meep for many, many more. Bacon has been there for us all, if I’m not mistaken.
Foreign Affairs – Bacon is the international language.
Energy – Did you know that Hormel made a motorcycle fueled by bacon?
Youth Fitness – Bacon does have health benefits, but everything in moderation of course!
Mass Transit – Which would you favor? Bus exhaust that smells of gasoline or bacon? Checkmate.
Defense – If the elderly can harness the power of bacon against the forces of evil, just imagine the possibilities.
Join me in welcoming Bacon to our campaign!
(makes a nice bumper sticker, no?)
It’s been a while since my first blog when I announced I would be running for President. Who knew there would be so much preparation, so many folks to meet, so much paperwork, and so little bacon! This process could stand to be more flexible. And that is one thing I will strive to do – cut the fat! From the bureaucracy, that is. We’ll keep the fat on the bacon. This sheep is not into crazy-talk!
Anyhow, since this sheep is new to the game, I am seeking candidates for my running mate way in advance. I have talked to a few acquaintances to ask for their help herding some possibilities but I am here to ask YOU – my constituents – to toss some names into my woolen hat. If you give a suggestion, I will try to arrange an interview and see if we’re meant to flock together.
So what do you think? Who do YOU think would make a great Veep for Meep??
So it begins – another adventure! The next couple of years will be filled with days of approving and sometimes disapproving. My competition seems fierce but after you’ve wrangled with house cats and tangoed with tricksy dames, how could anyone else compare to a sheep such as myself. I shall go wool to wool with them. I will put on my best coat and embrace the people with every fiber of my being. Join me in the preparation of a campaign never before seen. We will stun. We will astonish. We will prevail. We will bring home the bacon.
And that reminds me to bring home some bacon for the fantastic Meep Party tonight. Everyone should celebrate this and more fine days.
